# Mail walkthrough

The console Mail page, tab by tab: overview, messages with a safe preview, SMTP servers, the queue and the settings of bx-mail.

## What it shows

1. **The Mail page**: In the Modules group of the menu.
2. **Overview: the tiles**: Sent, failed, spooled, send time and failovers.
3. **One hour or 24 hours**: The same numbers for a longer window.
4. **What needs attention**: Judged by your own thresholds.
5. **The spool and the servers**: A short summary of each.
6. **Messages**: A list like a mail client.
7. **Search and filter**: By subject, sender, recipient or state.
8. **Read it like the recipient**: Pick a message to see its preview.
9. **Phone width and dark mode**: Check it on a small screen.
10. **The preview is locked**: No scripts, no remote images.
11. **Source, headers and parts**: Every part of the message.
12. **Attachments**: Name, type and size, never the bytes.
13. **Delivery attempts**: Which server, how long, and the error.
14. **Copy it, or open the request**: From a message back to the code that sent it.
15. **Servers**: Attempts, failures and latency of each one.
16. **The queue**: Send again or discard, for admins.
17. **Settings**: The settings of bx-mail, read only.
18. **What is kept, and Free**: Memory only, bounded, bodies are optional.
